DIY: Mantel

The first thing that you see when you walk into our place is the fireplace, which is why I decided that the TV has to be placed above it! At first, I opted to wall mount it, but then decided to make my own mantel. Although manual labor was put into the making of the mantel it ended up being much cheaper than the wall mount. The other upside to having a mantel is that during holidays you have something to hang decorations on (can’t wait for Halloween and Thanksgiving)!
