Holiday Gifts for Him

Nov 23 2022

Believing I’m the only living soul who finds it challenging to holiday shop for men would be me lying to myself; they seem to have everything they need, and, when asked, claim they need nothing nor want anything at all. To me, gifting is meant to be thoughtful and meaningful, I dislike buying for others to simply fill in a check in the box for that specific person; it’s important to me that I aim for the recipient to absolutely adore their present.

When I reached out to a few men in my life for some guidance for this post, I received various responses, some of which were quite comical…and here I am sharing.  First, I asked Paul, who said, Underwear and socks;” then, my brother, Keanu, “A comfortable ergonomic desk chair.”

Throughout the years, I’ve kept a continuing note in my phone titled, “Gifts for Paul.”

Should he ever mention something he needs, wants, or likes, I jot it down without him noticing. The range of items is vast — anything from shaving cream, shoe laces, newsboy caps or boots are many of the so-called need-nothings he’s brought up in our past. Through Instagram targeting and trial and error, Paul now gravitates to particular brands that he loves, a few of which I share below.

Keeping such a record has been incredibly helpful for not only myself, but for when others reach out to me, asking, “What should I pick up for Paul?” or “Does he need anything right now?”

I’ve assembled a highlighted list of a few, nice to have, but I’ll pass, maybe someday items. They’re stylish yet unique—not classed in with the everyman—and practical. Think of all the important men in your life when taking a look at this list…then, envision their smiles when they receive one of these potential gifts they didn’t know they  needed.

64 oz Water Bottle

Paul never leaves the house without this water bottle. It’s on the pricer side, but he got his first one at a discount a few years ago and was hooked. So when he lost that one, he immediately re-purchased the same exact one. It’s durable and keeps drinks hot or cold for hours.

Saucony

Speed 3 Running

According to Paul, the Speed 3 is one of the most versatile running shoes he has ever used. He said it feels incredible on the foot and while in motion. It’s light, stable and “propels” you forward helping you run faster. Prior to Saucony we both wore Asics Gel Nimbus which we loved, but this specific shoe is much lighter and meant for running!

Maison Margiela

At the Barber’s

Personally I love this scent. I discovered it while standing in the checkout line at Sephora. I thought it would be the perfect stocking stuffer (the roller version) so I bought it for Paul a couple Christmas’s ago and got lucky that he loved it just as much as me. At the Barber’s from REPLICA combines fresh, clean notes of basil, lavender, tonka bean, and white musk which evokes a familiar but forgotten moment in modern day, a visit to an authentic barber shop.
