Fall Flowers

The past week I have had the hardest time sleeping. At this point I think I am suffering from insomnia. Saturday morning when I woke up at 6 am I decided to go for a run on the boardwalk. On my way back home, I stopped at the farmers market to “browse”. I ended up leaving with an arm full of flowers for my roommate’s birthday. One thing my grandma has always told me is that the easiest way to turn a house into a home is to have fresh flowers and candles displayed at all times. Fresh flowers brighten up any room, on a gloomy day. At the market I decided to purchase some of my favorite flowers in fall colors. I wanted to create a beautiful fall bouquet to leave in my roommate’s room, with some birthday balloons. Surprisingly, I was able to put together multiple and I mean multiple flower arrangements, in small vases which I placed all over the house. My favorite part about arranging the flowers is selecting a variety of unusual vases to showcase my flowers and my creativity. I love to use coffee mugs, glass cups, mason jars and other fun “make-shift” vases I can find around the house… In my opinion, if the flowers are cleverly arranged in something other than a standard vase, the bouquets and arrangements present a more organic natural vibe and appearance.
