Take a breath

People always told me that college was all about the papers, but I never agreed with that statement. Due to the fact that I never had (prior to this semester) tons and tons of papers this statement did not pertain to me. Well, I can now agree with that statement 100%. You would think that I would get my panic attacks under control by now… but that has yet to happen. I swear there aren’t enough hours in the day to complete everything I need to do, and have to do, on a daily basis! It never seems like there is enough time to tackle it all… even when I get up at 8am (days I don’t have class) and stay up until 1 am. Caffeine has pretty much been my best friend over the past couple of days (and nights). I wish there was a survival book or a book for dummies about managing two businesses all while being a full time college student. I finally arrived at the realization that I need to cave in and admit that …. “it’s not easy”. There are mornings where I am up at 6 am working on emails and essays and nights where I am up until 2 am editing pictures for clients. I literally and figuratively wear so many hats throughout the day that juggling work and school ain’t easy. Every morning that I open my eyes I feel blessed & I realize that I am that much closer to accomplishing a few of my goals, dreams and aspirations. Therefore, at the end of the day after the tears are gone and the chaos has ended (for that day) there is something fulfilling about laying in bed knowing that with hard work, perseverance and determination anything is possible. I am looking forward to sharing a few site changes in the coming months. In between early morning study sessions and after noon study sessions I managed to put on something other than Lululemon leggings and a big tee. I opted for a la natural no make-up day & I reached for my “Indiana Jones” hat so that I didn’t have to fuss with my hair. I added a pair of comfy shoes that made walking across campus from one end to the other, an easy peasy, dreaded task.

  1. Haha! Its nice to know that you have been making best friends with caffeine this week too because of assignments and such. Currently pulling an all-nighter (its 12am in Australia) and getting stuck in to my 2nd coffee for what can only be one ridiculously long (and tearful) night.
I don’t know how you manage to look nice and post blogs about it all while under that much stress but my goodness, good on you!
Maybe when this semester is over I’ll be able to go back and look at all your gorgeous outfits and (finally) dress somewhat as nicely as you when I leave the house.
    Good luck with everything! 🙂

  2. love this post! you are a natural beauty! i admire your determination and perseverance. i often find myself procrastinating or lets be honest, half-assing school work on the regular. the fact that you keep up with with your blog while doing well in school shows something about your character you should be proud of! good luck with finals!
